Standard for oil content of compressed air of air compressor

Air compressors can be divided into oil-containing air compressors, micro-oil air compressors and oil-free air compressors according to whether they contain oil.

Oil-free air compressors usually do not contain any oil. Oil-free air compressors are virtually oil-free. The air compressor lubricated with resin material is a real oil-free air compressor. Typical oil-free air compressors have very little oil content. Oil and oil-free in air compressors generally refer to the oil content in the gas discharged from the air compressor exhaust port. Under normal circumstances, the oil content of the oil machine is large, and the oil content of the oil-free oil machine is 0.01ppm. Therefore, the oil content is used to distinguish between oil and no oil in the air compressor. There is also an oil-free air compressor, which does not use oil lubrication, but uses resin material lubrication. Therefore, the final exhaust gas is oil-free and is called an oil-free air compressor.

Micro-oil air compressor, air compressor for internal degreasing, oil content ≤ 0.1mg/m3. Compared with oil-free air compressor, the cost is cheap, and can meet the needs of customers, there is a certain market demand.

The oil content standard is the value measured under standard working conditions, and the higher the temperature of use and operation. Generally, if the oil content of the air outlet marked by each brand does not exceed 5ppm, the separation method and material designed by each manufacturer of the oil-containing air compressor will affect the oil content. The standards implemented by each manufacturer of the oil-injection screw air compressor will be different below 30ppm.

Medical compressed air gas oil content in the European Pharmacopoeia must be ≤ 0.1mg/m3.

In the air compressor system, no lubricating oil is added, pure water is used for lubrication, and no lubricating oil is involved in the operation of the air compressor. Therefore, the compressed air has no lubricating oil, so it is called an oil-free air compressor.

In the air compressor system, lubricating oil is involved in the operation of the air compressor, but the lubricating oil is isolated from the compression zone by means of complete isolation. The lubricating oil is only responsible for the lubrication protection of the bearing and does not participate in the compression.
