What is air compressor?

Air compressor, the full name of the air compressor is the main body of the air source device. It is a device that converts the mechanical energy of the prime mover (usually an electric motor) into gas pressure energy, and is a pressure generating device for compressed air.

Is one of the most commonly used in industrial and mining enterprises to provide air power equipment. Usually, the air compressor is divided into screw type air compressor, piston type air compressor and so on.

Volumetric type: The purpose of increasing the gas pressure is achieved by directly compressing the gas to reduce the gas volume. The volumetric type is divided into two types: rotary type and reciprocating type according to the characteristics of the cylinder piston. Most of the air compressors prepared in the oxygen chamber are volumetric.

The installation of a suitable place for the air compressor is a prerequisite for the use of the air compressor system. The selection of the installation site should ensure the convenient maintenance of the air compressor in the future and avoid the abnormal operation of the air compressor due to the unsatisfactory environment.

The air compressor units in the air compressor installation site should be arranged in a single row. The clear distance between the machine room and the wall should be greater than one meter, and the clear distance between the machine and the wall should be greater than 80cm, so as to facilitate the later maintenance operation of the air compressor.

The place should be close to the gas consumption part, and the installation place should be wide so that it is convenient to operate the air compressor during maintenance. Good lighting, the air should be clean and less dust, the relative temperature should be low, natural ventilation should be good, away from flammable, explosive, corrosive chemicals and harmful unsafe items, avoid close to the place where dust is distributed.

If the working environment is poor, a pre-air filter device should be installed to maintain the normal operation of the compressor and the life of the parts. The ambient temperature should be higher than 5 degrees in winter and lower than 40 degrees in summer, because the higher the ambient temperature, the higher the discharge temperature of the air compressor, which will affect the performance of the compressor. If necessary, the installation site should be equipped with ventilation or cooling devices.

When installing the screw air compressor, pay attention to the requirements of the installation site with good lighting and sufficient lighting to facilitate operation and maintenance. The relative humidity is small, the dust is small, the air is clean and well ventilated.

Since the air compressor is the power equipment with relatively large power consumption, when we select the air compressor, we need to consider whether the voltage and capacity of the enterprise can meet the power consumption of the air compressor.

When some enterprises require relatively stable voltage and current, it is recommended to select variable frequency air compressor. Whether the air compressor room can meet the space for equipment placement and maintenance is very important. We recommend at least 1 meter of maintenance space between each piece of equipment.

Whether the air compressor room meets the air intake and ventilation conditions. If the ventilation is not good, the temperature of the machine room is too high, which will affect the efficiency and life of the equipment.

Compressed air contains a certain amount of moisture and oil. If unprocessed compressed air is directly put into use, it may lead to failure of gas consumption equipment and product defects. When selecting air compressors, it is necessary to carefully understand the actual requirements of enterprise terminal gas consumption equipment, and provide targeted freeze dryers, adsorption dryers, precision filters and other equipment to process compressed air.
