What are the classification methods of air compressors

Air compressor general classification has the following several methods:

1. According to the gas transmission volume, the so-called gas transmission volume refers to the volume of the gas discharged per minute when the air compressor is working, which is converted into the inhalation state. The small exhaust volume is less than 10 cubic meters/minute, the medium volume is 10~100 cubic meters/minute, and the large volume is more than 100 cubic meters/minute.

Domestic models have 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.6, 3, 6, 9, 10, 12, 20, 40, 60, 100 per minute of displacement. Among them, minicomputers and micro-minicomputers account for a large proportion. Super-large ones above 100 are rare, and limited to size and weight, piston air compressors with displacement above 100 are unreasonable.

2. According to the structure type, there are rotary type, piston type and membrane type.

Among them, the piston type and rotary type in the screw type, slide type three forms are more common. Domestic piston type accounts for 95% of the output, while foreign screw type accounts for more than 90%. These three air compressors have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Screw air compressor due to the complex rotor profile, high manufacturing cost, but small size, light weight, small parts are its advantages. In the case of the same displacement, the screw type air compressor is much more expensive than the piston type, and its maintenance must have special knowledge and experience.

3. According to the center line and relative position of the cylinder, it is divided into vertical, horizontal and angle type, and the angle type is divided into V type, W type, L type, etc.

Generally speaking, because the piston air compressor is a reciprocating machine and has certain vibration, and the angle type can better balance its inertial force, almost most of the small and medium-sized piston air compressors are made of angle type. Only the air compressor for vehicles and ships is limited by the floor area and is made of vertical type. The horizontal type is a bellows type air compressor. It is an initial product of industrial generation and has no advantages. It is almost no longer produced now.

4. According to the cooling method:

air compressor due to the gas compression can increase the temperature rise, must be cooled, generally each stage of compression must have an intercooler, so according to the cooler is divided into water-cooled and air-cooled. The water-cooled type uses tap water for open circulation cooling; the air-cooled type uses fan cooling.

5, according to the different classification of the prime mover:

there are motor drive mode, diesel engine drive mode. The large electric type is equipped with a power distribution cabinet, and the diesel driven type is started by the battery. Both air compressors have direct connection and side connection (I. e. belt drive).

6, according to the lubrication method:

whether there is oil type, and oil lubrication type, the latter is divided into splash type and forced type (that is, oil pump and oil injector lubrication type).

7, according to the wide press basic configuration points:

fixed type: basic type and non-basic type; mobile type.

The air compressor refers to an air compressor whose compressed medium is air. General-purpose air compressor refers to the national standard. Its exhaust pressure is 0.7MPa, which is commonly referred to as 7 atmospheres or 7 kilograms (the old national standard used to be 0.8MPa). Generally speaking, the exhaust pressure of air compressor is 0.7MPa or 0.8MPa. If it is higher or lower than this, it belongs to non-standard special air compressor.
