Shutdown sequence of air compressor

Air compressor shutdown sequence generally includes the following steps:

press the "Stop" button: First, you need to press the "Stop" button on the air compressor control panel. This button usually has a clear logo to indicate to stop the operation of the air compressor.

Release internal pressure: after the air compressor shutdown, the system may still have a certain residual pressure. In order to ensure safety, it is necessary to release the internal pressure through a relief valve or other appropriate means to avoid accidents during maintenance or overhaul.

Disconnect the power supply: after confirming that the air compressor has completely stopped running and the internal pressure has been released, the power supply of the air compressor needs to be disconnected. Close the cooling water and inlet and outlet valves (if applicable): If the air compressor is equipped with a cooling water system, the cooling water inlet and outlet valves need to be closed after the power is disconnected. This can prevent the cooling water in the air compressor internal retention, causing corrosion or other damage.

Drainage of condensate (if applicable): For some types of compressors (e. g. screw compressors), it may be necessary to drain condensate after shutdown. This is because during operation, the moisture in the air may condense into water inside the air compressor. Regular discharge of this condensate can prevent damage to the air compressor.

Necessary maintenance and inspection: After the air compressor is completely shut down and the power supply is disconnected, necessary maintenance and inspection can be carried out. This includes cleaning the air compressor, checking the wear of various parts, replacing lubricating oil, etc. These maintenance work can ensure the normal operation of the air compressor and extend its service life.
