Air compressor filter element replacement matters needing attention

2026-04-09Views:

Air compressor three filter mainly includes: air filter, oil filter, oil separator. The method of replacing each filter element is slightly different, and we will talk about it separately.

1. Air Filter Replacement

the dust in the air sucked by the screw air compressor is blocked in the air filter. In order to prevent the screw compressor from being worn prematurely and the fine filter element in the oil and gas separator from being blocked, it is usually necessary to clean or replace the air after 500H operation. Filter element; in dusty areas, the replacement time should be shortened. The filter must be shut down when replacing. In order to reduce the downtime, it is recommended to replace a new or cleaned spare filter element.

1) Facing a flat surface, tap the two end faces of the filter element in turn to remove most of the heavy and dry dust.

2) Blow with dry air less than 0.28Mpa in the opposite direction to the inhaled air, the nozzle is at least 25mm away from the folded paper, and blow up and down along its height.

3) If the filter element is found to be thinned, pinhole or damaged, it shall be discarded.

2. Oil Filter Replacement.

1) Unscrew the oil filter and discard it.

2) Carefully clean the filter housing and dredge the front and rear pressure difference through holes.

3) Check the performance of differential pressure transmitter.

4) Install oil on the new filter element (apply a layer of oil on the sealing ring of the filter element).

5) When installing the filter element, screw it until it touches the gasket, and then manually tighten 1/3 turn

6) After starting up, check whether there is any leakage.

Note: The filter element can only be replaced after the compressor stops running and releases the pressure. In addition, you must be careful to heat the oil to prevent burns and do not spill the oil.

3. Oil Separator Filter Element Replacement

1) Remove the connecting hoses and copper pipes on the minimum pressure valve.

2) Remove the return pipe copper pipe.

3) Remove the cover plate.

4) Pull out the filter element.

5) Clean the cylinder.

6) After replacing the filter element, install it in reverse order.

Note: Before installation, you must check whether the rubber and asbestos pads have anti-static properties (conductive nails must be installed). During installation, it is necessary to prevent unclean objects from falling into the oil drum. When installing the return pipe, it must be ensured that the pipe is inserted into the bottom of the filter element.
