Long downtime of screw air compressor

2026-04-10Views:

In order not to affect the production progress of enterprises, most enterprises will be equipped with two screw air compressors, one open and one standby. The standby machine is mainly for emergency use. Only when the gas consumption is not enough or the common machine fails will it be used. Usually it is in a shutdown state, and the number of times it is used is not much. So what should be paid attention to when using the standby machine that is in a state of shutdown for a long time?

If the standby screw air compressor equipment is shut down for more than 3 weeks, it is recommended to do this:

1. Take out the condensed water from the oil cooler and after-cooler;

2. Check whether the unit is faulty when not in use, and stop the machine for future use after the faulty maintenance;

3. Discharge the condensed water in the oil barrel, oil cooler and aftercooler to prevent it from causing corrosion inside the unit.

If the downtime is greater than 2 months (in addition to the above steps, the following treatments are required):

1. Close the opening to prevent water from entering;

2. Packing aq valve and control panel with oil paper to avoid rust;

3. When not in use, replace the lubricating oil in advance and run for 30 minutes. After two days, remove the condensate from the oil and gas tank and cooler;

4. Discharge the cooling water in the unit.

The screw air compressor management personnel shall perform the following duties

(1) Establish the idea of managing the machine and carefully consider the air compressor and its equipment.

(2) Be familiar with the structure, working principle and performance of the equipment, and master its use steps and related equipment.

(3) Familiar with basic use skills, do a good job in equipment acceptance, preparation and parking.

(4) Be diligent in use, listening, touching, checking and adjusting.

The above are the steps that need to be carried out when the screw air compressor is not in use for a long time to ensure the normal operation of the subsequent unit.
