Air compressor belongs to which kind of special equipment

The air compressor itself is not directly regarded as special equipment. However, when the parameters of pressure vessels such as gas storage tanks exceed a certain range, these vessels will be regarded as special equipment.

In China, according to the Special Equipment Safety Law and related regulations, special equipment usually refers to equipment that involves life safety and is more dangerous, including but not limited to boilers, pressure vessels (including gas cylinders), pressure pipes, elevators, Lifting machinery, etc. For pressure vessels such as gas tanks, if their working pressure, volume and other parameters meet certain standards, they will be classified as special equipment and subject to corresponding supervision and management.

Specifically, if the working pressure of the gas tank is greater than or equal to 0.1MPa, and its volume, pipe diameter and other parameters exceed a certain range, then it needs to be managed according to special equipment, including registration, regular inspection and use management.

Therefore, the air compressor itself does not belong to any category of special equipment, but when the pressure vessels equipped with gas tanks and other pressure vessels meet the definition of special equipment, these vessels will be regarded as pressure vessels in special equipment. It should be noted that the definition and management regulations of special equipment may be different in different countries and regions, so the specific operation should be judged and managed with reference to local regulations and standards.
