Common Problems and Maintenance of Air Compressor

in general maintenance of air compressors, we encounter a series of faults such as high temperature shutdown, oil injection from the air inlet of the air compressor, low exhaust pressure, excessive oil and gas emissions from the exhaust valve, etc. When we encounter these faults, we must deal with them step by step.

First of all, when the air compressor inlet sprays oil outward and the air compressor suddenly stops and does not open the exhaust valve in time to discharge exhaust gas, the air compressor inlet sprays cooling oil outward. At this time, the oil cut-off solenoid valve should be checked first. If it is normal, it should be further checked whether the check valve on the main exhaust pipe can be closed in time or completely. If there is any fault, it should be eliminated.

Exhaust pressure is too low, first check the solenoid valves and pipe joints for air leakage; secondly check whether the disc valve is fully open; finally check whether the upper limit of the pressure switch is normal, and readjust if it is abnormal.

Exhaust valve oil and gas emissions too much, due to the air compressor oil and gas separation is not complete, air compressor exhaust contains a little oil molecules, exhaust valve long-term exhaust gas will cause the compressor host, motor, radiator and other sticky grease. It will not only affect the cleaning of the whole machine, make the rubber components aging in advance, but also cause the heat dissipation effect to drop, the temperature is high and the machine stops. To this end, we use a 2m long 2 inch rubber pipe to cover the exhaust valve and discharge the exhaust gas from the round hole in the bottom plate to the outside of the air compressor.

Then there is the most common machine overheating, high temperature shutdown. This failure usually occurs most frequently in summer. What are the main reasons?

1. Poor environmental ventilation and heat dissipation. There are three main situations in which the surrounding environment of the air compressor affects heat dissipation: first, it is too close to wall obstacles; Second, there are other heat sources near the air compressor; third, the front door and side door of the air compressor are open during operation, and the fan cannot form strong airflow.

2. The radiator is blocked. When there is a lot of dust in the environment around the air compressor, long-term operation will cause a layer of dust or sludge to adhere to the outer surface of the radiator, and its internal copper pipe will be easily blocked due to the accumulation of grease, thus affecting the heat dissipation effect.

3, the oil filter is too dirty. A machine generally has three side-by-side oil filters. When it is too dirty, the resistance oil cannot enter the machine according to the normal flow rate. This opportunity heats up rapidly due to insufficient cooling and lubricating oil. When the inlet and outlet oil pressure difference exceeds 0.18MPa, the filter element needs to be replaced.

4. The cooling oil level is too low. When the cold machine inspection, the oil level is lower than the lower end of the inspection tube should be immediately replenished.

5. Low oil grade or poor oil quality. The machine adopts screw air compressor oil, and when other low-grade or inferior oils are used, the viscosity and specific heat will not reach the standard, resulting in excessive temperature.

6. The fan tape is broken or loose. When the tape breaks and runs for about 5 minutes, it will automatically stop due to excessive temperature. If the tape is too loose, it will slip, which will reduce the fan speed and affect heat dissipation. At this time, the tightness of the fan tape should be replaced or adjusted.
